GENERAL FAQs
We will be in and around London the week before the event and will be leaving on our honeymoon on the Monday after the wedding.
We can't wait to spend time with you all at the welcome drinks, the wedding and the morning after brunch. For those who will be around prior to the wedding, we'd also love to catch up when we're not busy with preparations!
We live in Victoria Park, in east London, and we're excited to be hosting the festivities at some of our favourite spots in the neighbourhood.
There are a number of AirBnB's, VRBO's and a few hotels in our area if you want to stay near the events.
Areas we'd recommend searching on AirBnB/VRBO:
Victoria Park
London Fields
Stoke Newington
Hackney Central
Dalston
Islington
Here are a few cool, local hotels we would recommend:
If you'd rather stay further afield, check out our tips for getting around, below.
Walking:
London is a city made up of plenty of very walkable neighbourhoods, so it's great to get around on foot. All of the events are within a 15-minute walk of each other.
Public transportation:
If you're wanting to explore greater London, it's best to use public transport. For buses (a surprisingly good way to take in the sites), overground trains and the underground (tube), you can use contactless credit/debit cards or Apple Pay to tap on and travel. We'd recommend gettting this over an Oyster card as it's convenient and eliminates unnecessary admin.
For the tube and overground, you'll have to tap on and tap off. The bus is a flat fee, so you only need to tap on with your card/phone when you get on.
Recommended apps:
Download the CityMapper app, as it plans trips accurately, using all available transit modes (connecting Overground and the Tube is easy). This will help plan the most efficient routte and give accurate up-to-date travel times.
Travel to the events:
If you're using public transport to get to the events, these are the best stations to travel to:
Nearest stations to Hackney Town Hall (wedding ceremony)
Overground stations
Hackney Central – 5 minute walk
London Fields – 8 minute walk
Hackney Downs – 11 minute walk
Underground
Bethnal Green Station on the Central Line, connecting with a 106 or 254 bus – 15 minutes
Nearest stations to Edit Restaurant (wedding reception):
Overground
London Fields – 4 minutes
Hackney Central – 9 minutes
Hackney Downs – 15 minutes
Travel to and from the airport:
If you land at Heathrow, the Elizabeth Line is your best bet to connect to central and east London. It's cheaper and more convenient than the Heathrow Express; it's also faster than a taxi or Uber when taken between 7am and 10pm.
If you land at Gatwick, Stansted or Luton, there are plenty of trains that will take you into central London.
Biking:
There are a number of bike rental options in London if you fancy checking the city out on two wheels. You'll find dockless Lime e-bikes (park them respectfully or Nic will lose his $h!t) scattered across the city (you'll need to download the app to use) and there are Santander Cycles docking stations around too (although these are less convenient and the app is dodgy).
Drivers are used to cyclists on the road, but please be careful!
Ride share:
If you're too good for public transport or just want a more direct route then Uber, Bolt and Freenow are all good options.
EVENT FAQs
Please let us know by 1 April 2024 if you'll be joining us (or not)!

We want everyone to feel comfortable, confident and like their best selves.
If you were to ask Hannah, the dress code would be described as "fun, cool, colourful and whatever makes you feel amazing (as long as that's not sweatpants)."
If that's too abstract for you, you can stick to a "semi-formal" or "cocktail" dress code. We're not too caught up on semantics, just dress smart and wear something you like.
Both the ceremony and reception will be indoors.
As we're getting married in England, the weather is notoriously unpredictable so we'd recommend bringing a jacket regardless.
We will be hosting a multi-course sit-down meal, followed by cake. There will be a selection of natural wines and local beers on us (well, technically our parents).
If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, please note these in the form when you RSVP.
Between the ceremony and the reception we'll be having photos taken with our immediate families so you'll have some free time.
There are plenty of pubs, cafés and parks nearby where you can chill for a bit before the reception starts at 5pm.
We will also book some tables at a nearby pub – let us know if this is of interest when you RSVP and we'll be sure to include you in that number.
Not sure where to go? Check out our tips.
Your presence is the best present we could ask for!
But, if your love language is gift-giving or you'd like to assuage your guilt for not coming to the wedding, we would love a contribution to our honeymoon fund.
If you're a more physical gift kind of person, we've set up a registry you can check out here. But seriously, no pressure or expectation at all (this is not a trap).
We are looking forward to having our guests relax and enjoy an evening of celebration.
Although we love your little ones, due to space and licensing, we are unable to accomodate anyone under the age of 16 at our wedding. Please let us know if you have any questions!
We can't wait to celebrate with our closest friends and family. Since our venue has limited space, if your inviation indicates "and guest" you are more than welcome to bring a plus one – otherwise, no new friends.
We have found a photographer we love, to capture the moment, so we ask that you please refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony and on the Town Hall stairs.
We're looking forward to being in the moment and unplugging for a bit.
We will share a link to the edited, professional photos after we receive it, where you can browse, download and purchase prints.
